About

The News Gator is a news aggregator. It collects headlines from third-party publishers, puts them on one page, and links every one of them back to the publisher who wrote it. We do not host, rewrite or republish their reporting.

Where the headlines come from

We read the public feeds of a fixed list of independent publishers. That list is shown on the front page — each source has its own panel in The Gator Pit, so you can always see exactly who we carry and what each one is leading with.

Every headline links to the publisher’s own page. Clicking one takes you to them, not to a copy on this site. Images, where shown, are the ones the publisher supplied in their own feed; where a publisher supplies none, we show our own category artwork instead.

How stories are presented

Stories may be organized and ordered using automated rules and internal scoring systems. Top Chomps carries the stories those systems surface across all sources; The Gator Pit shows each publisher’s own recent headlines side by side.

We are still building. Coverage of the same event by different publishers is not yet grouped together, so a story reported by two sources currently appears under each of them separately. Oureditorial policy sets out how selection works in more detail.

What we are not

We do not write news. We do not endorse the publishers we list or the stories they run — inclusion is not agreement, and it is not a claim that a story is accurate. We are not affiliated with any of them.
